Pitbull is arguably the most dominant artist in the genre and its hard to go out to the club in Tucson and not heard at least a couple Pitbull song. Pitbull is from Miami with a Cuban background and has been cranking out monster hits since 2004.
About Song: This song came out on the 2007 album “Boatlift”. This song is such a club banger here in Tucson and I just wanted to share it with all those poor souls who don’t get to hear Reggaeton. I know that some east coasters won’t believe it but this song puts Usher’s “Yeah” to shame when it comes on. The beat on the song is based heavily on popularized by Enur which is also a great song and is posted in the comments. The Anthem also features Lil Jon.

Kid Cudi is signed with Kanye’s Good Music and will come out with his debut album “Man On the Moon: End of Day” this fall. Pharrel also is in the very alternative Hip Hop band N.E.R.D. which has a strong cult following. Bobby Ray has been creating self produced track since 2007 and already has five mixtapes out. Bobby Ray is a true musician who blurs the lines between Hip Hop and other genres. With his funky Atlanta style Bobby Ray is pulling Hip Hop in a new direction with fun lyrics and a disregard status quo. Besides Wale, Bobby Ray is the artist I’m really trying to push. Chip tha Ripper who shares the album Came Down was realeased on, is also from Cleveland and has a slow Bun B style that really bumps well About Song: This track was orginally released in 2006 on Lil Wayne’s The W. Carter Collection 2 but this remix was released on Chip Tha Ripper and Al Fatz’ Double Trouble in 2008. This song is Great to drive becuase the beat is so simple but blasts like nothing else on decent speakers. Also on this track is Kanye West. Kanye West, originally a hip-hop producer for artists including Jay-Z, NaS, and Lil Kim, was hailed for his critically acclaimed debut album “College Dropout”. Since then Kanye has had his ups and downs in the media and his most recent album was a departure from his earlier style with dark emotional auto-tune heavy tracks. Drake’s first album is set to release this fall and his single “Best I Ever Had” already plays on the radio like its the number one requested song. Drake could be considered an R&B artist but he does rap as well. About Song: Uptown (featuring Bun B and Lil Wayne) is a track off of Drake’s “So Far Gone” mixtape which came out in Febuary 2009.
