I like this song because of 9th Wonder’s jazzy no frills production but more Phonte’s true to hip hop tradition rap style and message.

About Artist: Saigon is a NY rapper who has spent a great deal of time in the New York penetentary system causing years of delays to his music career. His most recent album which just came out the other day has been in the making for years and is highly anticipated. I just finished listening to the album and it is REALLY GOOD. You can read more about Swizz Beatz and Jay-Z on their wikipedia pages (links below) About Song: This song was the first single off of The Greatest Story Never Told and dropped in the summer of 2007 (it would be nearly another four years until the album was released). This is a shorter remix version with Jay-Z which was released on the album but you can listen to the original HERE there was also another remix with Jay-Z where Saigon raps different verses HERE. I actually think the lyrics of the original (and the other remix) are a little sharper but I posted the remix just because it’s the one that made it to the album. Both Asher Roth and Fashawn have used this same instrumental which I love and samples J. Geils Band’s Southside Shuffle (mp3 here). I really like the track that Swizz Beatz put together, and I understand why they made so many versions of the song. The guitar and singing in the background is awesome. There are also some good lines in these verses but I’d recommend also listening to the Original and the Other Remix for more lyrics.
