RoyceDa59-DinnerTimeftBustaRhymes.mp3 (right click and “save link as”) About Artist: Royce 5’9″ is one of the best lyrical emcee’s goin at it right now. Royce entered the game in 96 and got a break hookin up with Eminem. His relationship with Eminem got him into some beef with D12 and he’s been bouncing around between labels ever since. Royce is a true battle MC and I believe it when people say he never lost. About Song: This song is HOT. It’s got him and Busta Ryhmes and they just TEAR IT UP! Favorite Verse: It’s too close to call. Royce rips the first verse apart but, the second verse is Busta at his best! Favorite Line: Just listen to all of it. Other: Royce 5’9″ Wikipedia

FatJoe-HeyJoe.mp3 (right click and “save link as”) About Artist:Who doesn’t know Fat Joe? He’s been a mainstay in Hip Hop for quite a while now check out his wikipedia link below for more info. About Song: This song, produced by infamous, obviously heavily sample Jimi Hendrix’s Hey Joe. There’s nothing terribly unique about this song but I liked the sample and I think the way verses grind over the record sounds cool. Favorite Verse: The first verse comes in hard… I like it! Favorite Line: Nothing really. Other: I love the rhythm of Fat Joe’s verses! Fat Joe Wikipedia
KidCudi-PusuitOfHappinessftMGMTRatatat.mp3 (right click and “save link as”) About Artist: Kid Cudi just released his debut album Man on the Moon: End of Day which received generally received good reviews making it to #4 on the charts with 104,000 copies in its first week. The album is a real trip. Cudi narrates the album and take you on a journay through a night of sleep full of dreams and nightmares. His single “I Make Her Say (ft. Kanye and Common)” is the only track that blatantly does not belong on the album. The album is very unique and while it’s not to be played at parties to to bump in the car to sit down and listen to it all the way through is an fresh and amazing experience. About Song: I had another Cudi song all lined up but Christine Griffin was goin on about MGMT the other night so I thought I’d throw this up instead. This song is a typical Cudi track very laid back fuck reality kind of thing. Favorite Verse: This song is much more about the musical feel. Ratatat breaks the record down toward the end and its nice to just travel though the song, so no favorite verse. Favorite Line: “Tell me what you know about Dreams, Dreams. Tell me what you know about Night Terrors nothing” (1:48) Something just strikes me about this line and it really captures the essence of the album and as far as I can tell, Cudi himself. Other: Cudi is in a very unique place in the world of Hip Hop and has no close comparison. Kid Cudi Wikipedia
About Artist: GLC is an artist under Kanye West’s GOOD Music label. He’s been around for a while he was featured on Encore from Jay-Z’s Black Album, as well as on Spaceship off of Kanye’s debut album College Dropout. GLC has his own style but in my opinion has never really “Made It” cause he just a little too hard and has a low tone kinda laid back gangsta sound but if you listen to his words he really talks about real life and the personal struggles everyone goes through. About Song: This song is just a slow song about making mistakes and tough choices in a relationsip. Favorite Verse: None in particular Favorite Line: Line at 33 and how he splices in Marvin Gaye’s “Goin On” Other: GLC has been tryin to break out for years but its not for a lack of talent. From the DMV (DC area) a straight lyricist with crazy stream of thought. Look for his debut album Attention Deficit on Nov 3. XXL gave it a great review and Wale is gonna change the game. About Song:This is the first Wale song I ever heard. It may not be the catchiest but its just unique and awesome. No chorus not repetition just 3 minutes of straight rap. Favorite Verse: EVERYTHING.
