Check out Novel’s mixtures online cause they are all dope, as well as Novel’s remix of Kid Cudi’s “The Sky Might Fall” which was featured earlier on the gregshiphop. About Song: This song is OBVIOSLY, a freestyle over Lupe Fiasco’s Figher (ft. Matthew Santos) from Lupe’s “The Cool” album. This remix is off of Joell Ortiz’s mixture “Jackin for Beats” where he “freestyles” over 46 different beats, its pretty crazy. Skyzoo-CrackTheCodeftRhymfestprodbyKSalaam.mp3 (to download right click and “save link as”) About Artist: Skyzoo is a Brooklyn rapper. He is fairly new (hittin the scene around 2005) but does not have the freshman buzz or fast-track career status like other younger rappers. Rhymefest is a Chicago MC who has been around for a while but still has it made it to the big time. His first official album “Blue Collar” from 2006 is GREAT and I would definitely recommend it. His next album title “El Che” (a name that Rhymefest goes by) is due May 18th. I am a big fan of both Skyzoo and Rhymefest About Song: This song is off of a tape called Closed Sessions Vol 1. a project spearheaded by rubyhornet.com (link to closed sessions post) which looks real good and real unique. The official site (closedsessions.com) for the project has all the details and tons of free music. Favorite Verse: Both Skyzoo and Rhymefest sound solid on this (though I think I like Rhymefest a LITTLE better on this) Favorite Line:“I’m a big fish boy you a tadpole,
you wear a bubble and still catch a bad cold
…The Da Da Davinci Code through y’all in my movie..
and if you owe me money I suggest you give it to me” (2:14) Other: I saw DJ Salaam on Sunday in NYC with Donnis… it was awesome Skyzoo Wikipedia Skyzoo MySpace Earlier Skyzoo Song on gregshiphop.com Rhymefest Wikipedia Rhymefest MySpace Earlier Rhymefest Song on gregshiphop.com Earlier Rhymefest Song on gregshiphop.com (from Rhymefest’s Michael jackson tribute album
JaRule-IncredibleftRKelly.mp3 (to download right click and “save link as”) About Artist: Ja Rule is a rapper of the former era. He was a huge commercial success selling over 35 million albums worldwide but has since quickly faded from the game. His early hits included collaborations with R Kelly, Ashanti and of course his Song New York, featuring Fat Joe and Jadakiss, one of my favorites. However since the early Ots Ja Rule has been torn down by his critics and is now passe. R Kelly, who also seemed to have peaked in the early 2000s is a Rapper/Singer with hits like Ignition. About Song: This song is a half joke. I don’t what it’s a part of but it sounds like its straight out of the late 90’s, plus a little autotune. It has the same formulaic structure of all of those late 90s hits. I don’t wanted to get hated on for being a Rule fan, which I’m not, but there is no replacing Ja’s voice. So this song is just to let you reminisce a little and think about how things used to be ( a nice little love song lol) Favorite Verse: I dunno, maybe Ja’s second verse R Kelly Wikipedia Ja Rule Wikipedia

He’s been on some random tracks and remixes over the years but other than that I don’t know much about him. He’s a name but he hasn’t yet found a great amount of commercial success About Song: This song is off of Stat Quo’s LONG anticipated album Statlanta which is due out May 4th Favorite Verse: I like the verse that starts at about 2:10 that quotes different rappers and then goes on to do just a solid verse. Nothin crazy lyrically but I like it Other:This song is supposed to get a video soon so… whatever Stat Quo Wikipedia
